Building the Boundaries
This Masterclass is the final in the series of 4 but can be attended or booked as a standalone masterclass. The masterclass offers a spotlight on how to navigate the boundaries of supporting peer-led work, whilst exploring lived experiences and creating a safe and inclusive space for individuals and the wider group. This is aimed at professionals who want to gain confidence in approaching challenging situations, improve their practice of creating an inclusive space for young people, and understand how to navigate conversations about challenging issues in a safe and constructive way, whilst encouraging peer support. Professionals will be encouraged to reflect on their own boundaries throughout the class.
Content Highlights Include:
Boundaries: What do they consist of and what do they mean to you?
Physical/Emotional/Mental boundaries; how can we maintain them and encourage young people to maintain them?
Overview of facilitation skills, adaptations, and inclusivity
Disclosures, Challenging Conversations, and Safeguarding
The power of Purposeful Storytelling, and lived experience
Reflection, After-care, and Peer support
Troubleshooting challenging scenarios
