Festive and Christmas Community Events
Each year, 10+ young people are trained as Youth Event Managers and come together to plan a winter event for 200+ community members, with a closer focus on community groups who might be more isolated at this time of year.
Our Youth Event Managers:
Decide the colour scheme and even name of the winter event- from frosty blues to traditional red and green, we have even had a Frozen theme
Design the poster and distribute promotional material to local residents developing design skills and public speaking
Get training in customer service as young people serve the community directly at their tables
Promote the event to local residents but also speak with local businesses to see what they might be able donate to provide gifts and joy to the community
Encourage other young people to take part in social action and volunteer as stewards
Host the event including running interactive games like audience favourite Bingo and entertaining guests
